It is domestic rabbit breeding. It is developed from the Middle Ages in Europe, but only really took off in the world recently.
Formerly bred in wildcats, it is now found in different types of breeding including traditional family which are often oriented towards self-consumption and have low-intensity practices.
It is also a leisure breeding for some, who present their purebred animals at fairs and exhibitions.
